We are a specialist engineering company for marine corrosion protection and biofouling control — designing, manufacturing, installing and supporting cathodic protection, marine growth prevention and shaft grounding systems for naval, commercial, offshore and infrastructure assets.
Talk to Our Engineering TeamSargam Cathodic Protection LLP, based in Chennai, works on a single class of problem: seawater attacks steel, and marine growth blocks the systems that keep a vessel running. Both are electrochemical, and both are solved by getting current, potential and hardware right for one specific platform.
A current distribution study is only useful if the arrangement can be built into that hull, in that drydock window, with cofferdams that pass a pressure test and cabling the yard can route. We carry the work from platform-specific design through manufacture, installation support, commissioning and service — on newbuildings and on retrofits alike.

Some of this work cannot be bought off a shelf. Naval platforms need corrosion protection that also respects the vessel's underwater electrical signature, and that requirement changes how the system is modelled, arranged and controlled.
Sargam developed indigenous Low Signature ICCP capability for Indian naval platforms, and introduced Active Shaft Grounding to hold shaft potential rather than simply bond it. Both were engineered in India, with computer modelling of corrosion dynamics and vessel signatures used to arrive at the arrangement before anything is cut or welded.
Each configuration is validated against the platform requirement and confirmed through the project technical offer.
Cathodic protection, marine growth control and shaft grounding address different duties, but are selected against the same hull, operating profile and service life.

Corrosion protection and underwater electrical signature engineered together.
Systems selected for the trade, coating condition and survey cycle, at newbuilding or retrofit.
Units that stay on station, where limited access and design life drive the arrangement.
Fixed shoreline and industrial assets in seawater and brackish service.
Categories of work Sargam has engineered and delivered, as stated in our existing published material. Project-specific references are shared on request.
First in India to develop and supply Low Signature ICCP Systems for warships, addressing stealth requirements alongside corrosion protection.
First company in India to introduce Active Shaft Grounding Systems for naval vessels, minimising underwater electrical signatures.
First Indian company to successfully deliver ICCP Systems for aluminium hull vessels, deployed on 50+ L&T Class Interceptor Boats.
Pioneered advanced computer modelling of corrosion dynamics and vessel signatures in India, optimising cathodic protection system design.
Developed specialised cathodic protection anodes for India's Nuclear Submarine Programme and Scorpene-class submarines.
Applicable standards and classification requirements are project specific, confirmed against the approved specification, the nominated classification society and the technical offer.
Share the vessel or structure details, drawings, coating and operating profile and the project requirement. We will advise the applicable systems and prepare a technical proposal.
