Corrosion as Well as Cathodic Protection Systems are Significant Contributors to a vessels electro-magnetic Signatures. Unless Proper Care Is taken these systems or their absence can result in the creation of an Underwater electric potential, alternating electric and static electric Signatures, corrosion related magnetic signatures and extra- low Frequency electro-magnetic Signatures. All these Signatures can be Detected by mine triggers and pose a deadly threat especially in littoral Water operations.
Sargam can offer specially designed low- Signature ICCP systems as well As Active shaft Grounding systems to significantly minimize vessel Signatures and at the same time ensure a high level of cathodic Protection.
LOW SIGNATURE ICCP SYSTEMS:
Sargam's low Signature ICCP systems are completely modular with each Module capable of independently controlling an anode. Control is Through a microprocessor that ensures complete flexibility in setting Protection potentials for different sections of the hull and also ensures More precise control of hull potentials.
The units have very low ripple less than 0.1% and are ruggedized for Naval applications.
The units can be provided with a choice of pb-Ag anodes, Pt-Ti anodes or MMO-Ti anodes and either Zn or Ag/AgCl reference electrodes assembled In pressure tested and radio-graphic weld inspected cofferdam Assemblies.

The units meet EMI-EMC regulations and have facilities for automatic Data logging as well as remote display of error conditions.

ACTIVE SHAFT GROUNDING SYSTEMS:
In a conventional passive shaft grounding system, a slip ring attached to The propeller shaft is physically connected to the hull with the grounding Bar. While this arrangement is sufficient for greatly reducing the stern Area corrosion and preventing damage to bearings and steels, it could Still result in potential difference between the hull and the propeller of 50 mV or more. This potential difference is sufficient to cause a detectable ELFE Signature.
Sargam's active shaft grounding system uses an electronic control panel That takes a feedback from shaft sensors to force the propeller shaft to a Near constant voltage as close to the hull potential as possible.
The system is supplied complete with control panel and slip-ring Assemblies.
